A quite old animation I did like 3 years ago. But I still like it a lot, and I hope you will enjoy it as well :) It's a dark story though.

Synopsis: A man enters the Animal Restaurant. He is terrified to find out all the customers transform into animals and they start to eat themselves.

Software used: Photoshop, After Effects, Pro Tools

Background music is Claude Debussy's Sonata for Violin and Piano, played by Christian Ferras and Guy Bourassa.
Many thanks to my mentors and my friends!

The Animal Restaurant by Kurtssingh is a very dark, surreal and daring animation. It isn't afraid to tell its story and has some fantastic animation work to boot. The compositions and deformations in the animation were designed to bring discomfort and enhances the dark mood. A very strong piece that will undoubtedly leave you silent one way or another! Hmm, well certainly it was dark... not what I usually like.
But I thought it was quite good!
It was interesting; thought provoking.
I thought the dying mermaid with the grin was particularly good.
I also liked the final transformation scene.

Elements of horror? But it was not gory for shock value or anything like that,
it was just... well, macabre. But not overwhelmingly so, it was subtle.
I trust it somehow, and it draws me in to keep watching.
It was something I could experience, and appreciate, and accept.
Which is a new experience for me.

Thank you!

The animation was inspired by Debussy's music and a stop motion which is quite old I can't even remember the name (the plot is very similar to what I made, yet very very brutal).

The mermaid scene was one of my favorites, too! It was elegant and dark, and it was also one of those scenes that I used some special effects :P (I was an After Effects beginner when making this animation)

Yep, but he's leading a group of herbivores to eat the human, which is not very natural :P and thanks for liking the movements!

The thumbnail to this really does not live up to the quality of the video. I saw the thumbnail and thought "What on earth is that?" I thought it was a floor board XD
This is much better than a photo of a floor board nice work! I enjoyed it

Well on the bright side, it was my curiosity that enticed me to click it in the first place, and I am glad I did, it was a great animation, you had a very unique idea there, much better than the floor board I had envisioned XD
I think you could easily pursue a career in animations

That was... scary... The use of Debussy as the sound track creates this highly unsettling dissonance!
